WANDERWEG
2004
An installation made in response to research into the flow of the river Rhine. This involved tracing its origins in the Swiss mountains and working with imagery from ancient maps.
Salt – like an hourglass – represents time and formation of the land, as well as a reference to the eventual meeting of spring with sea water.
Installation (size 4 x 8 metres) in the Ateliers Hoherweg, Dusseldorf, Germany.
Salt, paper, glass panels, neon
Print based on 15th century map of the Rhine
Video projection of pouring salt
